Malaysia-headquartered AirBorneo is cutting its schedule on the Kuching-Singapore route and introducing a new service to Indonesia this month. Read More » The airline, based in Sarawak in East Malaysia and formerly known as MASwings when owned by Malaysia Aviation Group, has reduced its Kuching-Singapore services from daily to four times a week, from daily previously. The flight reductions will allow the airline to launch a new Kuching-Jakarta route from 13 November. AirBorneo has scheduled three flights a week to the Indonesia capital. "Our direct Kuching to Jakarta service marks an important milestone as we grow AirBorneo’s regional network across key ASEAN gateways," AirBorneo CEO, En. Megat Ardian Aminuddin, said. "A direct link to Indonesia’s commercial capital makes it easier for business leaders, investors and official delegations to travel between our two markets. It also offers patients and families a more comfortable journey to specialist care in Sarawak." AirBorneo said passengers impacted by the flight reductions to Singapore were contacted directly and offered rebooking options.
