Airlines: Cebu Pacific Air has again selected Rolls-Royce’s Trent 700 to power its latest order for two additional A330-300s. The deal includes a long-term TotalCare services contract. Lessors: BOC Aviation has placed six B737-800s with China Airlines (CAL), adding a new customer to its portfolio. CALC has signed an agreement with ANA Holdings for an A320. The airframe will be delivered to ANA’s Vanilla Air offshoot next August. Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) has signed LOIs with Oman Air for two new B737-800s with deliveries at the end of this month.

MRO: HAECO Xiamen has completed its first B777F maintenance check for Lufthansa Cargo. HAECO Xiamen has worked with Lufthansa Cargo for over a decade, providing C-Checks and D-Checks for its MD-11F fleet, as well as the carrier’s B747-400 and B747-8 passenger fleets.

OEMs: Boeing Commercial Airplanes has posted a 3.4% year-on-year revenue improvement in the second quarter to $17.4 billion, but reported an overall $234 million loss during the period, reversed from a $2.4 billion profit a year ago, which it attributed to a $2.1 billion R&D charge. Iran intends to purchase 20 MRJs from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for Iran Aseman Airlines, according to Asghar Fakhrieh Kashan, deputy minister for international affairs at the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

Routes: Air Asia X will launch a daily Kuala Lumpur-Istanbul-Barcelona A330-300 route from October 30. Air China will replace the A330 with the B787-9 on the daily Beijing-Auckland service starting October 30, and it will reduce frequency on the Chengdu-Frankfurt and Chengdu-CDG A330-200 routes to twice-weekly (down from three and four times a week, respectively), also effective October 30. Air New Zealand will replace the B767-300ER with the B787-9 on the twice-weekly Auckland-Denpasar route commencing May 27. Bangkok Airways will add a daily Suvarnabhumi-Guangzhou A319 flight beginning October 30. Dragonair will take over parent Cathay Pacific Airways’ four daily flights between Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur starting next March. Emirates Airline will increase frequency on the Dubai-Doha route from seven to nine daily from October 30, and it will place the A380 on all three daily Dubai-Manchester rotations from January 1. IndiGo Airlines will boost connectivity from Kolkata from August 15, launching a new daily A320 service to Visakhapatnam, and adding a fifth daily service to Agartala and Hyderabad, respectively. NokScoot will add a thrice-weekly Don Mueang-Dalian B777-200ER service starting September 23. Singapore Airlines has started deploying the A350 on one of its four daily Singapore-Melbourne rotations. Thai Airways International (THAI) plans to deploy its first A350 on crew familiarization flights from Suvarnabhumi to Chiang Mai and Phuket from September 4 through to September 15.
