Thailand’s aviation regulator recertifies Orient Thai Airlines

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) this week recertified Orient Thai Airlines. Read More » The carrier was the 13th Thai airline to have its air operator’s certificate (AOC) renewed by the regulator. It will be valid until November 8, 2022.

All major Thai airlines, including Thai Airways International (THAI) and low-cost carriers, Thai AirAsia and Nok Air, have been recertified. Asia Atlantic Airlines, Jet Asia Airways and Siam Air are expected to have their AOCs renewed by the end of January.

Orient Thai ceased international operations in September, but planned to relaunch scheduled charter services from Bangkok and Phuket to Mainland China in early 2018. Its registered fleet of 18 ageing jets has been in storage for four months.
