Royal Brunei Airlines is considering joining oneworld’s Connect Membership, according to a report from Ch-Aviation. Oneworld did not return a query seeking comment.

Oneworld Connect’s first member is Fiji Airways. Star Alliance’s Connecting Partner programme includes Juneyao Airlines.

Outside of LCCs, Emirates, Etihad and airlines under the HNA Group, there are few major airlines that are not part of a global alliance. One exception is Philippine Airlines, although it is again considering alliance options.

Royal Brunei serves regional Asia markets as well as Australia and the UK (via Dubai), two major oneworld markets due to members Qantas and British Airways (BA). This year, Royal Brunei announced a return to Brisbane and expanded its BA prorate from 11 to 23 European cities.
