AIRLINES: Japan Airlines (JAL) will use Mobil Jet Oil 387 on its A350s that are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines. Read More » The airline also has selected GE Aviation’s AirVault for digital records management of its 200 plus aircraft fleet. The agreement includes maintenance and engineering integration of JAL facilities worldwide.

INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT: Indian full-service carrier, Vistara, is the launch customer for Panasonic’s entertainment solution, Arc Inflight Map and Games. The 3D map application will be installed on the airline’s 787-9 and A321neo fleets from 2020. Arc will allow Vistara passengers to play premium games created by globally recognized brands.

COMMUNICATIONS: Aircalin has become a customer for SITAONAIR’s digital CrewTab solution for cabin crew on the South Pacific carrier’s A330neo and A320neo aircraft. All Nippon Airways is fitting selected 777-300ERs with SITAONAIR’s internet ONAir WiFi portal, powered by GX Aviation, in partnership with JSAT MOBILE.

GDS: Shandong Airlines will be equipped with Sabre Technologies Sabre AirVision Schedule Manager and Sabre AirVision Fares Manager. The airline, which was established in 1994, is a joint venture with shareholders that include Air China and Shandong Finance Investment Group Ltd.

ROUTES: Air Seoul will operate double daily Seoul Incheon-Guam from October 1. Hainan Airlines will discontinue Xi’An-Melbourne from October 27. Xiamen Airlines will begin flying daily between Qingdao and Osaka from October 27. China Eastern adds daily Nanjing – Macau from October 27 and will increase capacity between Shanghai Pudong and Ho Chi Minh City by up-gauging from A321s to A330-300s. Korean Air will launch daily Jeju-Pohang on September 16. Thai Airways International will expand its Bangkok-Brussels route to six a week from October 28. Capital Airlines commenced its direct Xi’an-Lisbon route, at three times a week, on August 30.
