Air China and China Southern top two earners in December 2020

The International Civil Aviation Organisation's (ICAO) air transport monitor monthly report showed the top two airlines by revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) in December 2020 were China Southern Airlines (CSA) at 15.6 billion and Air China at 10.4 billion, with China Eastern fourth at 9.7 billion. Read More » "The three major Chinese airlines reported moderated recovery due to the new outbreaks and resulting restrictions, but they still demonstrated the strongest resilience," the ICAO report said. The top three airports by passenger numbers were Guangzhou (2.4 million) followed by Shenzhen (1.9 million) and Beijing Capital (1.8 million). Hong Kong International Airport handled the most cargo in December, at 437,000 tonnes, ahead of Memphis (426,525 tonnes) and Shanghai Pudong (354,104 tonnes).
