Air India to say goodbye to its 747-400 fleet

Air India is expected to officially retire its 747-400 fleet next week, Ajay Awtaney's Live from a Lounge website reported, citing unnamed sources at the airline. Read More » The Air India website lists four 747-400s, configured with 423 seats, in its fleet. Three of the aircraft are in storage while the fourth, VT-EVA, last flew on February 28. Air India took delivery of its first 747, a 747-200, in 1971, and accepted its first 747-400 in 1993.
