Sydney Airport signs for SITA Flex at two passenger terminals

Travel technology provider, SITA, has signed a five-year agreement with Sydney Airport to supply its common-use platform, SITA Flex, and baggage messaging system, SITA BagMessage, at two of the airport’s terminals. Read More » "SITA’s goal is to provide best-in-class technology solutions and to help Sydney Airport reshape its value proposition to all its stakeholders," SITA president of Asia-Pacific, Sumesh Patel, said. Sydney Airport head of aeronautical technology and infrastructure, John Raso, said SITA is adapting its offering to the new world of passenger travel and the related commercial impact on airports.

Last week, Sydney Airport reported passenger numbers declined 79.8%, to 623,000, in February, from 3.1 million a year ago. Domestic passengers were down 70%, at 596,000, and international travellers tumbled 97.5% to 27,000 for the month.
