SIA Group posts 13.8% month-on-month passenger growth

Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group carriers flew 150,900 passengers in July, up 13.8% month-on-month from the 132,600 passengers they transported in June. Read More » Revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) also grew on a month-on-month basis for the reported period, rising by 15.4%. SIA said the improvement in passenger traffic was "on the back of a calibrated increase in passenger capacity", or available seat kilometres (ASK), in the last 12 months. The airline group - Singapore Airlines and Scoot - said passenger capacity was at 32% of pre-COVID-19 levels in July, up four percentage points from 28% in June. The July passenger total was 95.4% below the 3.3 million passengers SIA carried in July 2019. SIA's passenger load factor was 16.3% for the 31 days compared with 16.1% in June and 21.6% in July 2020.
