AirAsia Malaysia records 25.8% quarter-on-quarter passenger growth

LCC AirAsia Malaysia flew 4.8 million passengers in the three months to September 30, up 25.8% from the 3.8 million passengers it transported in the three months to June 30. Read More » Passenger load factor improved two percentage points for the quarter, to 86%, and capacity, or available seat kilometres, increased 27.2%, the airline's parent company, Capital A, reported in its third quarter operating statistics. Capital A airlines in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines carried a combined 7.1 million passengers in the reported three months, 28.2% higher than the 5.6 million passengers flown in the second quarter. Improved passenger demand was a result of a surge in domestic and international travel demand in key markets, Capital A said.
