AirAsia X (AAX) has resumed Kuala Lumpur-Tokyo Haneda with three flights a week flown by A330-300s. Read More » The regional LCC also is scheduled to start Kuala Lumpur-Sapporo next month and from the Malaysian capital to Osaka Kansai in 2023. AAX CEO, Benyamin Ismail, said Japan was a “core destination” for the LCC. “The resumption of services to Tokyo signifies our commitment to accelerating our growth as a mid-range airline,” Ismail said. “Our Malaysian guests love Japan. Not only that, we have significant fly through connectivity via Kuala Lumpur to Japan including from Australia and other ports. As demand increases, we will gradually add services to Tokyo to meet strong forecast growth.”
