AirAsia and AirAsia X return to Greater China

The Malaysia-based affiliates of AirAsia and AirAsia X (AAX) are resuming nonstop services to seven destinations in Greater China. Read More » AirAsia Malaysia will operate from Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu to Guangzhou, Kunming, the Macao Special Administrative Region and Shenzhen, initially with 10 flights a week, increasing to 27 services weekly by March. “China is an integral market for the AirAsia Aviation Group, where we were the largest international LCC by capacity pre-pandemic,” AirAsia Malaysia CEO, Riad Asmat said. AAX Malaysia will restore nonstop Kuala Lumpur to Chengdu, Hangzhou and Shanghai, operating 10 flights a week from March 1. “China will be our primary market focus as we return to our growth strategy of flying our most popular and profitable routes,” AAX Malaysia CEO, Benyamin Ismail, said.
