Air New Zealand reports jump in domestic passengers for January

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) flew 770,000 passengers on its domestic network last month, an increase from the 613,000 customers flown in the same month in 2022. Read More » Despite strong year-on-year growth, the carrier’s in country passenger numbers for the reported month were 29.4% below the 1.1 million customers it transported in December. Compared with pre-COVID-19 operations, the January 2023 results were 99.3% of the 775,000 domestic passengers the Star Alliance member carried in January 2019. Capacity, measured by available seat kilometres (ASK), was 99.2% of pre-pandemic levels.
