India closes airspace to Pakistan’s airlines

Read More » The Indian government’s decision is a reaction to Pakistan banning India’s carriers from its airspace in the wake of the assault. A notice to airmen (NOTAM) said Indian airspace was not available for Pakistan registered aircraft and aircraft operated, owned or leased by Pakistan airlines and operators. The ban also applies to military flights. Pakistan’s ban forced cancellations, delays and re-routing of scores of India flights but the India ban is expected to have a smaller impact. Pakistan International Airlines, the country’s flag carrier and largest commercial airline, said it does not fly through Indian airspace.
