AirAsia X shutters Malaysia-Africa route after six months

AirAsia X (AAX) will cease flying to Nairobi at the end of August as a result of lower than expected travel demand. Read More » The airline started nonstop four times a week Kuala Lumpur-Nairobi last November and is the only airline flying the route. It decided to cancel the rotation as part of its “network optimisation initiative”, the LCC said. Passengers will be offered a full refund, travel credit or a free of charge flight change. “We continue to review our network and consumer demand and will make adjustments from time to time to ensure commercial viability and best value fares for our guests across our network,” AAX said. “If we identify strong demand for AAX to return to this route, we will review the potential again.”
