Pakistan-India conflict disrupts operations of several Asia carriers

Read More » The clashes, including Pakistan shooting down five India fighter jets, have resulted in the diversion of two dozen international flights from Pakistani airspace in the last 24 hours. A Pakistan army spokesperson said 57 international flights were operating in Pakistan’s airspace at present. But in an updated report, FlightRadar24 said airlines had cancelled 52 flights to or from Pakistan in the last 36 hours. Taiwan’s China Airlines (CAL) and EVA Airways said ten of their flights had been affected by the airspace closure. Korean Air has begun rerouting Seoul Incheon–Dubai by flying over Myanmar, Bangladesh and India. THAI’s flights to Europe and South Asia are being rerouted as are Vietnam Airlines flights to Europe. The conflict also is disrupting domestic flights in both countries. Several airports in northern India are closed affecting routes operated by Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet and Akasa Air.
