SIA CEO says airline group yet to see impact of tariffs

At the airline group’s recent results briefing, Singapore Airlines Group (SIA) CEO, Goh Choon Phong, said SIA has not experienced any material change in booking trends in response to the recent imposition of increased tariffs by the U.S. government. Read More » Goh told reporters at a May 16 financial results presentation the group’s two operating airlines - Singapore Airlines and Scoot - were well-placed to manage the uncertainties of the tariffs in the period ahead. “At this point in time, based on what we can see in the bookings, we do not see any significant impact or any material impact,” Goh said. “We are still seeing robust demand on our routes. I would say that what is very important is to see whether we have the nimbleness, the agility and whether we are prepared to manage the uncertainties. I believe what I have shown in my presentation is exactly that - that we are ready.”
