IndiGo records 62% increase in net income in latest quarter

India’s IndiGo flew 31.9 million passengers in the three months to March 31, 20% more than in the matching days in 2024. Read More » Domestic air travel surged, the airline reports, especially during the Maha Kumbh mela, the largest religious gathering in the world. From January 13 to February 26, 660 million people travelled to the northern Indian city of Prayagraj and visited the River Ganges, a body of water sacred to Hindus. As a result, the LCC’s net income for the quarter accelerated to 30.7 billion rupees ($358 million), the second highest quarterly profit in the airline’s history. Revenue increased 24%, to 221.52 billion rupees, the carrier’s regulatory filing said.
