AirAsia launches new one-stop service to Fukuoka

AirAsia Malaysia will start a new one-stop service from Kota Kinabalu to Fukuoka via Taipei Taoyuan from August 15. Read More » The LCC group already serves Fukuoka nonstop from Bangkok Don Mueang and Kuala Lumpur. “We are excited to launch this new fifth-freedom flight from Taipei to Fukuoka, marking another significant milestone as we continue to explore new opportunities from our Kota Kinabalu hub,” AirAsia Malaysia CEO, Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra, said. “Since reinstating the Kota Kinabalu-Taipei route three years ago, we have flown more than 130,000 guests, and the numbers continue to grow.” In other AirAsia news, the LCC’s Thailand unit commenced Don Mueang-Hong Kong-Okinawa flights this week. It is Thai AirAsia’s third fifth freedom service to Japan alongside its existing daily Don Mueang-Taipei-Okinawa and Don Mueang-Kaohsiung-Tokyo Narita offerings. “All three routes have demonstrated robust demand, underscoring Okinawa’s growing popularity as a leading leisure destination in Japan,” Thai AirAsia CEO, Santisuk Klongchaiya, said.
