Emirates Airlines and Etihad Airways upgrade cabin services on Kolkata route

Read More » From July 18, Emirates will fly 777-300ERs Dubai-Kolkata with a premium economy cabin on four of its 11 a week rotations. "The response to our premium economy product in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad has been overwhelmingly positive. We are confident travellers in Kolkata will appreciate the blend of comfort, value and thoughtful touches that make Emirates’ premium economy stand out," Emirates vice president India and Nepal, Mohammad Sarhan, said.
Rival Etihad will introduce first class between Abu Dhabi and Kolkata with three-class A321LRs on September 26. At present, Etihad now serves Kolkata with two-class A320s. Etihad’s A321LRs are configured with two first, 14 business and 144 economy seats compared with the airline’s two-class A320s that accommodate 136 to 176 passengers. "With this upgrade, our guests can enjoy a superior travel experience, whether in our luxurious first suites, business class lie-flat seats or the next-generation economy cabin," Etihad chief revenue and commercial officer, Arik De, said.
