Today’s briefs report news from All Nippon Airways, Capital A, Hitachi, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad and Korean Air. Read More »

Following a successful trial, All Nippon Airways is using a system developed with Hitachi to better track and revise flight schedules across its domestic network if weather or other factors disrupt schedules. The new system can reduce time needed to consider revisions by up to 70%. It also is more responsive to changes in weather forecasts, easing the mental stress on operations staff and improving flight stability by allowing rapid comparisons of multiple revision options, the airline said.

Capital A and Malaysia’s railway company, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore areas of cooperation such as bundled flight-train bookings, shuttle services to Johor Bahru Senai Airport, cargo network integration, catering, payment platforms and loyalty benefits.

Korean Air is exhibiting its solutions for smart mobility and the latest in aerospace technology at this week’s World Smart City Expo in Busan. The exhibit showcases a drone for aircraft exterior inspections, a hybrid drone for longer research, reconnaissance and delivery flights and an AI-powered chatbot for maintenance. "This exhibition provides a valuable opportunity to demonstrate how our advanced technologies and innovation can shape the future of smart mobility," the airline said.
