Taiwan’s airlines boosted by record interim passenger demand

Read More » For June, CAL’s consolidated sales came in at NT$16.89 billion, with revenue of NT$10.29 billion generated from passenger flights. Sales from cargo services earned NT$53.33 billion. Shipments to the U.S. increased in the month as foreign buyers front-loaded before a 90-day pause on the U.S. "reciprocal orders" expired, CAL said. Solid demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI) gadgets, semiconductor equipment, auto parts and fresh vegetables and fruit boosted cargo performance. EVA Airways said consolidated sales for January-June hit a new high of NT$110.25 billion. Consolidated sales were NT$18.54 billion, down 4.51% from a year ago, but higher by 1.4% compared with May. As a result of the current summer vacation peak season, the airline’s load factor on long-haul flights to North America and Europe came close to 90% in the month. Regional load factor for the 30 days was 80%. Air cargo demand from China recovered amid eased trade tensions between China and the U.S. and solid demand for Taiwan’s AI servers and semiconductor equipment boosted cargo revenue. STARLUX Airlines consolidated sales in first-half 2025 increased 34% year-on-year to NT$21.96 billion. Sales generated from passenger flights increased 11% from 12 months ago, at NT$2.97 billion, and cargo revenue hit an all-time high of NT$455 million, an increase of 82% from mid-2024, the airline said.
