China Airlines delivers 22.8% first half profit increase

China Airlines (CAL) has reported a net profit of T$8 billion (US$268 million) for the six months to June 30 compared with a net profit of T$6.5 billion in interim 2024. Read More » Revenue improved 5.2%, to T$104.1 billion, Taiwan-headquartered CAL said in a regulatory filing. Strong demand in major holiday periods, including Lunar New Year and the Grave Sweeping festival buoyed its bottom line, the SkyTeam alliance member said. CAL also booked a double-digit increase in cargo revenue driven by demand to move goods ahead of anticipated tariff increases on U.S. imports.
