Korean Air and Vietnam Airlines to invest in MRO facility, agree cargo partnership

Korean Air (KAL), Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Airlines Engineering Company (VAECO), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish an aircraft MRO shop at Ho Chi Minh City’s Long Thanh International Airport. Read More » The facility, 40 kilometres from Vietnam’s commercial capital, will offer airlines airframe maintenance, component repair, cabin modification, technology transfer and technical training services, Vietnam Airlines said.
The MoU was one of four signed by Vietnam’s flag carrier at this week’s Vietnam-Korea economic forum in Seoul. They cover commitments to expand cooperation in air cargo services with KAL and promote travel between Vietnam and South Korea in partnership with the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), Hanatour and Saigontourist Group.
