Akasa Air completes share sale to new investors

India’s Akasa Air has added three investors to its ownership register after it sold strategic stakes in the carrier to 360 ONE Asset, Claypond Capital and Premji Invest. Read More » The proposed sale was announced last February. Akasa reported on August 19 that the deals had received the green from regulators. Existing shareholder, the Jhunjhunwala family, also tipped more capital into the airline. "We warmly welcome our new investors to the Akasian family and deeply appreciate their confidence in our team," Akasa Air co-founder and CEO, Vinay Dube, said. "Their support affirms our vision and strengthens our ability to scale sustainably while keeping customers and employees at the heart of our operations." Akasa Air has flown 20 million passengers and built its fleet to 30 737 MAX 8s since it began flying in August 2022.
