Malaysia Airports (MAHB) managing director, Dato’ Mohd Izani Ghani, said Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) was benefitting from an increase in Mainland carrier flights. Read More » KLIA has welcomed several new services from "this important market" in recent times including Loong Air’s Xi’an-KLIA route. "Strategic growth in Chinese connectivity is a key driver of Malaysia’s broader economic expansion and reinforces KLIA’s position as Southeast Asia’s preferred aviation hub," Dato’ Mohd Izani said. "Direct air links with emerging cities like Xi’an increase passenger traffic and facilitate greater trade and investment opportunities." KLIA throughput 3.9 million international passengers in July compared with 3.8 million air travellers in the same month in 2024.
