Air China reduces interim losses, reports improving revenue

Air China has announced a RMB2.7 billion (US$370 million) loss for the six months to June 30 compared with a RMB3.5 billion loss for the same period in 2024. Read More » Interim group revenue was RMB80.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of RMB1.2 billion or 1.56%. Year-on-year capacity was up 3.37%, passenger demand was higher by 5.23% and load factor was better by 1.43% at 80.72%. The Star Alliance airline flew 80.7 million passengers in the six months. From January to June the flag carrier introduced one A320, five B737s, one C919 and two C909s into its fleet and phased out an A330, three A320s, and a business jet. At June 30, the airline group had 934 aircraft with an average age of 10.28 years.
