Bangkok Airways upgrading Trat Airport to meet air traffic demand

Bangkok Airways, 100% owner of Trat Airport, will spend 400 million baht (US$12 million) to improve the airport’s terminal facilities, extend the runway to 2,000 metres and increase parking bay space to accommodate three narrow-bodies or two turboprops and two single aisle jets at any one time, Bangkok Airways CEO, Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, told reporters at a media event in Trat. Read More » The eastern Thailand airport is preparing for new domestic and international routes catering to meet growing demand for travel to Thailand, local media said. At present, Bangkok Airways is the only airline operating to Trat with two flights a day from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi flown by ATR 72 turboprops.
