Bangkok Airways upgrading Trat Airport to meet air traffic demand

Bangkok Airways, 100% owner of Trat Airport, will spend 400 million baht (US$12 million) to improve the airport’s terminal facilities, extend the runway to 2,000 metres and increase parking bay space to accommodate three narrow-bodies or two turboprops and two single aisle jets at any one time, Bangkok Airways CEO, Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, told reporters at a media event in Trat. At present, Bangkok Airways is the only airline operating to Trat with two flights a day from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi flown by ATR 72 turboprops.
