SITA’s survey of 7,500 air passengers in its Passenger IT Insights report revealed travellers are keen for the wider use of digital technologies while travelling. Two thirds of the survey’s respondents wanted faster airport processing and 80% said they were ready to store their passport details on their personal electronic devices. "Passengers are not resisting change. They have already changed," SITA CEO, David Lavorel, said. "They have gone digital. Now it’s our turn. The future of travel is not about adding tech. It’s about removing friction."
