Japan Airlines reports 8.3% increase in domestic passengers flown for September

Japan Airlines (JAL) flew 3.2 million passengers on its domestic network in September, up 8.3% from 3 million in the same month last year. Read More » Domestic available seat kilometres were flat year-on-year and passenger load factor was 7.5 percentage points higher at 86.7%. The oneworld alliance member booked double digit growth across its international network for the 30 days, when the number of passengers carried rose 10.3% to 655,460. International capacity expanded 7.9% and passenger load factor climbed 3.5 percentage points to 84.3%. JAL Group said its LCC, ZIPAIR Tokyo, posted a 13.2% drop in passenger numbers to 100,039 in September. It was a more positive set of figures at JAL’s Spring Japan joint-venture, which grew international passengers 38.3% to 80,004 and doubled domestic passengers carried to 20,384.
