South Korea’s Parata Air flags new North America route

Parata Air has submitted an application to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for a foreign air carrier permit and authorisation to start nonstop flights between the U.S. and South Korea. Read More » The airline, which previously operated as Fly Yangyang and Fly Gangwon prior to a corporate restructuring and being acquired by South Korea-headquartered Winix Inc, currently flies only domestically within South Korea. The airline said in its submission it was planning to commence South Korea-U.S. flights from the start of the next northern hemisphere summer scheduling season on March 26 2026 with two leased A330-200 aircraft on two routes - Seoul Incheon to Las Vegas and Los Angeles. "Parata Air may further develop additional routes in the future," the airline’s submission said. The LCC was also working to start nonstop flights to Japan and Vietnam between now and March next year. South Korea and the U.S. have an open skies agreement.
