Japan Airlines firms launch date for Japan Transocean Air’s new Taipei route

Japan Airlines (JAL) will begin ticket sales for its Japan Transocean Air (JTA) subsidiary’s first international route between Okinawa Naha and Taipei Taoyuan on December 3, ahead of the inaugural service on February 3. Read More » JTA, which currently flies domestic routes within Japan, will serve Taoyuan from its Okinawa hub daily with two-class 737-800s featuring a premium economy and economy cabin, as well as complimentary internet access via wifi. Passengers in economy will be served sweets and snacks, while those seated in premium economy will be offered a light meal on the 90-minute flight. "By integrating with the JAL Group’s domestic and international networks originating from Okinawa, travellers will have increased opportunities to tour numerous destinations of Japan with Okinawa serving as their gateway," JAL said. Currently, Taipei-Okinawa is served by eight carriers - Batik Air Malaysia, China Airlines, EVA Air, Peach, Starlux Airlines, Thai AirAsia, Thai VietJet Air and Tigerair Taiwan.
