Thai Airways International (THAI) has reported net profit of 4.4 billion baht (US$136 million) for the three months to September 30, down 64.6% from net profit of 12.5 billion baht in the same three months in 2024. Read More » Revenue fell 3.1% to 44.4 billion baht, THAI said in a regulatory filing. The company noted the prior year’s financial report included one-time gains from foreign exchange movements and its debt restructuring. Operating profit excluding one-time items more than doubled to 5.4 billion baht in the quarter, from 2.4 billion baht previously. Looking ahead, THAI said it planned to expand its route network and increase flight frequencies on some existing routes as part of efforts to "mitigate the risk of over-reliance" on any one particular market. "This approach will help boost passenger numbers during the off-peak season, maximise the utilisation of traffic rights, and generate sustainable growth," THAI said. The Star Alliance member has a target to increase its fleet to 150 aircraft by 2033, from 78 operating aircraft and three unused currently.
