Vietjet joins Boeing club

Vietjet has taken delivery of its first Boeing aircraft with the arrival of 737 MAX 8 registration HS-VZA at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport following its delivery flight from Seattle via Anchorage and Sapporo New Chitose. Read More » The 737, powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines, is the first of 200 aircraft the LCC has ordered from Boeing and is expected to start flying with the company’s Thai Vietjet Air affiliate in December. The airline, which is expected to receive 50 737 MAX family aircraft, has announced Bangkok-Chiang Mai as the inaugural domestic route for the type, followed by nonstop flights between Bangkok and Cam Ranh in Vietnam in early 2026. The 737 MAX will also be gradually deployed to cities in Japan, Mainland China and South Korea. "This addition strengthens the airline’s operational capacity, supporting growing travel demand and enabling further expansion across key destinations in the Asia–Pacific region," Vietjet said.
