Japan Airlines reports 4.1% domestic passenger growth in October

Japan Airlines (JAL) flew 3.5 million passengers on its domestic network in October, up 4.1% from 3.3 million in the same month last year. The oneworld alliance member booked double digit growth across its international network for the 31 days, when the number of passengers carried rose 10.4% to 695,590. International capacity expanded 8.3% and passenger load factor climbed 2.3 percentage points to 87.4%. JAL Group said its LCC, ZIPAIR Tokyo, posted a 3.3% drop in passenger numbers to 118,992 in October. It was a more positive set of figures at JAL’s Spring Japan joint-venture, which grew international passengers 58% to 70,043 and increased domestic passengers carried by 54% to 21.643.
