Indian authorities opens investigation into IndiGo flight disruptions

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation of India (DGCA) on Wednesday announced that it has launched an investigation into widespread flight disruptions at IndiGo. Read More » The regulatory body asked the airline to explain the reasons behind the operational breakdown and submit a mitigation strategy to reduce cancellations and delays going forward, The Economic Times reported. IndiGo faced a significant operational setback on Wednesday, cancelling over 100 flights across multiple airports and delaying several others, largely due to crew shortages. The LCC has introduced adjustments to its network for the next 48 hours in an effort to restore normal operations. According to operational data submitted by IndiGo and shared by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), the airline recorded 1,232 flight cancellations in November 2025. A significant portion of these cancellations stemmed from crew and Flight Duty Time Limit (FDTL) compliance, as well as airport, airspace, and ATC-related restrictions. On-Time Performance (OTP) in November dropped to 67.7% from 84.1% in October.
