Qantas Airways will resume international flying from the Gold Coast and add a new service linking New Zealand with Samoa next year. Read More » The nonstop Gold Coast-Auckland service is scheduled to launch on June 16 and operate three times a week. The oneworld alliance member is also starting Sydney-Auckland-Apia service from June 16 next year, its second route to the Samoa capital alongside its existing flight from Brisbane. Qantas said this new one-stop offering to Apia was scheduled to operate on alternate days to its Brisbane-Apia nonstop.

"Today marks a huge milestone for the Gold Coast with Qantas international services returning after almost five years," Qantas international CEO, Cam Wallace, said. "There’s been real demand for a premium option to Auckland and we’re the only airline offering business class on this route. Our new Auckland to Samoa service launching the same day gives Sydney and Brisbane travellers near-daily Qantas connectivity to the Pacific, strengthening our trans-Tasman and Pacific network."

Separately, Qantas is reopening its premium passenger lounge at Auckland Airport’s international terminal on December 17, following the completion of its refurbishment.
