Skymark Airlines introduces Boeing 737 MAX 8 operations in Northern Summer 2026

Read More » The Aviation Wire reports the new aircraft will feature a new livery, marking a slight modification compared to the current one. The airline is expecting to accept its first 737-8 in March 2026, meaning the carrier’s fleet number in fiscal year 2025 will be 30 (one 737-8 and 29 737-800s). The company plans a fleet of 32 aircraft in 2026 and 33 aircraft from 2027 to 2029, with the current 737-800s being gradually retired. The arrival of the 737 MAX jet will allow Skymark Airlines to increase the number of flights on three routes: Kobe-Sapporo, Kobe-Naha, and Sapporo-Ibaraki. From June 19 until October 24, 2026, the carrier will operate the seasonal Fukuoka-Shimojishima route. It will also add new connections on the Nagasaki-Miyako (Shimojishima) and Sendai-Kagoshima routes. The services on the Nagoya-Naha route will be increased to three per day, compared to two per day during summer 2025.
