Veteran aviation executive Alan Milne is returning to Air Niugini for a second stint as the airline’s CEO. Read More » Milne was appointed by the Papua New Guinea government’s national executive council to lead the airline at "pivotal time" amid a refleeting program which includes the induction of the A220-300 and the retirement of its Fokker and Dash-8 turboprops. "Air Niugini is entering a new era as we modernise our fleet, lift operational performance, and deliver the service standards Papua New Guineans expect from their national carrier - at a time when the airline is undertaking the largest capital investment in the country’s aviation history," Air Niugini chair, Karl Yalo, said. Milne previously served as Air Niugini CEO from 2018 to 2020. He has also worked for Qantas Group in various executive roles and was the CEO of Skytrans Airlines from 2020 to 2025.
