AirAsia Malaysia returning to Wuhan

AirAsia Malaysia is expanding its presence in Mainland China in May when the LCC resumes flights to Wuhan from its Kuala Lumpur hub. Read More » The LCC will commence four flights a week to Wuhan starting May 22. The service has been scheduled as an evening departure from Kuala Lumpur and an overnight flight from Wuhan. AirAsia Malaysia suspended flights to the city in Hubei Province in Central Mainland China at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. "China has always been a cornerstone market for AirAsia and today we are proud to reaffirm our leadership position with the resumption of the Kuala Lumpur-Wuhan route," AirAsia Malaysia general manager, Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra, said. "When we first launched this route in 2017, it recorded strong two-way demand, with an average passenger load factor of more than 80%, reflecting its solid market potential." Sister carrier Thai AirAsia flies to Wuhan from Bangkok Don Mueang, while China Eastern Airlines is currently the only airline with nonstop flights between Wuhan and Kuala Lumpur.
