Qantas bested Virgin Australia and Jetstar for punctuality in 2025

Qantas Airways had 77.9% of its domestic flights arrive within 15 minutes of their schedules last year, delivering the best on-time performance of 2025 among the country’s major carriers. Read More » It bettered Virgin Australia (VA) at 76% and Jetstar at 75.2%, Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE) said. The best on-time performance for 2025 was achieved by regional carrier Hinterland with an on-time arrival rate of 88.4%%. Hinterland also topped the table for punctual departures at 92.5%. While Qantas had the best on-time arrivals rate, it also had the highest percentage of cancelled domestic flights among the major carriers at 3.2%, ahead of Jetstar at 2.2% and VA at 1.7%. Skytrans Australia had the highest percentage of cancellations at 8.4%, while Hinterland had the lowest at 0.8%.
