Air Lease Corporation has received final regulatory approval for its sale to a group of four investors - Sumitomo Corporation, SMBC Aviation Capital, Apollo and Brookfield - first announced September last year. The transaction was expected to close on April 8, Air Lease said in a regulatory filing, with the new entity to be known as Sumisho Air Lease Corporation.
DHL Global Forwarding is starting two new cargo routes during the northern hemisphere summer scheduling season, with once weekly Shanghai-Leipzig and Liège-Tel Aviv-Hong Kong to be operated by 777F freighters. "The demand on that trade lane continues to grow at an exceptional pace, and strengthening our network ensures that we stay ahead of customer needs," DHL Global Forwarding global head of air freight, Henk Venema, said. DHL Global Forwarding said it was planning further capacity uplift on the trade lane between Southeast Asia and the U.S. "later this year".
