Airline association cautions it might take months before jet fuel supplies recover

Read More » Talking to the media during the IATA World Data Symposium (WDS), taking place in Singapore after the U.S.-Iran ceasefire was announced, Walsh explained that, taking into consideration the fact that the crude oil needs to be refined into jet fuel, it would take months for the jet fuel supply to recover even if Iran reopened the Strait of Hormuz. “If it were to reopen and remain open, I think it will still take a period of months to get back to where supply needs to be given the disruption to the refining capacity in the Middle East,” Walsh said.
