Air India welcomes first retrofitted 787-8

Air India has completed cabin upgrades on the first of 26 787-8 aircraft to be fitted with the airline’s latest business, premium economy and economy cabin products. Read More » The aircraft, registration VT-ANT, touched down at Delhi just before 2300 local time on Monday, following a nearly 19-hour ferry flight from San Bernardino in California. The cabin upgrades were undertaken at a Boeing modification centre in Victorville, while the aircraft was repainted in the Star Alliance member’s new livery at the AeroPro paint workshop in San Bernardino. "This is just the beginning of a transformed flying experience for our guests as these twin-aisle aircraft serve several long-haul destinations across the UK, Europe, USA and Far East," Air India said. The airline said previously it expected to complete the retrofits on the 26 787-8s by the middle of next year.
