Japan Airlines post 5.8% annual growth for domestic passengers; 5.6% higher for international travellers

Japan Airlines (JAL) reported the number of domestic passengers carried rose 5.8% to 38.2 million in the 12 months to March 31 2026. Read More » The domestic load factor rose 6.9 percentage points to 85.8%, while capacity was down 0.6% and demand, or revenue passenger kilometres (RPK), grew 5.8%. It was a similar story for JAL’s international network, which posted 5.6% passenger growth in the 12 months to March 31 to 8 million. International passenger load factor improved 1.9 percentage points to 85.8%, while capacity expanded 5.7% and RPKs advanced 8.1% in the year. JAL’s LCC unit, ZipAir, flew 1.4 million passengers for the year, up 1.8% from the prior corresponding period.
