Boeing narrows net loss in 2026 Q1

Boeing reported a net loss of US$7 million for the three months to March 31, compared with a net loss of US$31 million in the same three months in 2025. "We’re building on our momentum with a strong start to the year and growing record-breaking backlog across our business," Boeing CEO, Kelly Ortberg, said. "With a continued focus on safety and quality, we’re delivering high-quality commercial and defense products and services, while increasing production to uphold our customer commitments and get back to the iconic global aerospace company that leads our industry." Boeing’s commercial aircraft business posted an operating loss of US$563 million, compared with an operating loss of US$537 million in the prior year, despite deliveries rising 10% to 143 aircraft. Boeing said it expected the 737 MAX 7 and 737 MAX 10 to both receive certification this year, with deliveries to commence in 2027. It guided the market to expect certification of its much-delayed 777-9X in 2027.
