Air China achieves 3.7 billion turnaround to return to profitability in Q1

Air China has posted net profit of 1.7 billion yuan (US$251 million) for the three months to March 31 2026, compared with a net loss of 2 billion yuan in the same three-month period in 2025. Read More » Revenue rose 11.3% to 44.5 billion yuan, Air China said in a regulatory filing. Supporting the return to profitability was the company’s ability to limit operating cost increases to 1.7% to 45.2 billion yuan in the quarter. "Seizing market opportunities, the company continued to optimise its route structure and achieved steady growth in production scale with a year-on-year increase in operating income," Air China said. "At the same time, it made every effort to promote refined cost control measures, resulting in a significant improvement in profitability for the period."
