Virgin Australia upgrades airport and mobile app checkin

Virgin Australia (VA) is introducing new checkin kiosks and bag tag printers at 10 domestic airports in Australia, as well as adding more functionality to its mobile app to make it easier and quicker for passengers to complete pre-flight formalities. Read More » As part of the upgrade, passengers will be able to print a bag tag by scanning their boarding pass and drop their bag off without having to rescan the boarding pass. The airline is also upgrading its mobile app to offer new features such as the ability for eligible passengers to select an earlier or later flight on the day of travel, as well as bid for upgrades, within the app. "Nearly 80% of our guests use the Virgin Australia mobile app and website to check in for flights and manage their booking, so we’re doubling down on improving our digital experience to slash the time it takes to check in and bag drop by up to 50%," VA general manager for digital, Alex Plummer, said.
