China Airlines launches new premium economy cabin

Read More » The cabin has been configured with 28 seats in a 2-3-2 layout and features design elements which incorporate local Taiwanese scenery and culture. This includes seat covers with a colour scheme inspired by the historic town of Jiufen after dark. On a practical note, the tray table has been designed with an anti-slip surface coating "for both aesthetics and practicality" and includes a mobile phone and tablet stand. Each seat includes a 4K high definition entertainment screen with bluetooth connectivity for personal devices such as headphones, a reading lamp, leather footrest and six-way headrest. Passengers will also receive an amenity kit, slippers and complimentary internet access via wifi. "Every aspect of flying from airport check-in to in-flight amenities to catering design to service process has been optimized to provide travelers with a premium experience approaching that of business class," CAL said. "The clever use of colors, materials, as well as the interplay of light and shadow, present an elegant fusion of local culture and technology through which travelers can experience the energy and warmth of Taiwan’s cities during their flight."
