Air India to launch "Easy Connect" international service from Varanasi

Read More » The airline is launching the new "Easy Connect" offering on June 25, with the daily AI1111 service from Varanasi to Delhi the inaugural route. The flight has been timed to connect to 17 international destinations across the Asia-Pacific, Europe and Gulf region departing Air India’s Delhi hub within four hours. Passengers will be able to check their luggage through to their final destination and complete international immigration formalities at Varanasi and transit Delhi as international travellers. The Star Alliance member said it was adding more "Easy Connect" flights, to be numbered AI11XX, from India’s Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in the months ahead. "The successful implementation of the hub-and-spoke model requires close coordination across airlines, airports, and multiple government agencies," Air India group head for governance, risk, compliance and corporate affairs, P. Balaji, said. "We are grateful for the strong collaboration that has enabled this rollout. Together, we are building a more efficient, integrated, and globally competitive aviation ecosystem for India."
